Logitech cordless duo mx problem

I bought this keyboard and mouse combo about 2 months ago & have had lots of
problems with the keyboard, particularly with the iTouch software that
controls the function of the special keys. In short, the iTouch software
wouldn't start (neither automatically with windows nor manually) and the
special keys seemed to have been randomly remapped so that for example, if i
pressed the Next Track button, my email application would open...

Logitech's web based support was completely useless; finally after more than
2 weeks of unhelpful advice, they gave up and suggested that i contact
someone by phone. Five minutes later, my problem was fixed... apparently
"about 1 in 10" users experience the same problem after downloading &
installing the updated iTouch software. The solution was to reinstall the
original software from the CD.

Unfortunately, the random remapping has returned, although now the iTouch
software starts with Windows with no problems & the configuration
application runs fine too - except that it's completely useless because the
software can't reassign functions to the Play/ Stop/ Next/ etc multimedia
keys and this problem is causing remapping of all the special keys, not just
the media control keys.

One thing I noted that seemed odd: in Device Manager, the keyboard is
recognised as "Easy Internet Keyboard"... I remember that when i had the
first problem, it was the same. Unfortunately, I never looked in Device
Manager when the keyboard was working properly to see if it was showing up
differently. Could this be what's causing the problem? Should i just
uninstall/ reinstall & see if it fixes itself?
